Broken bones

It has been an exciting past few days as we have dealt with our littlest one breaking his arm. While the boys were playing on Wednesday, Peanut #2 fell off of a chair that he was jumping from and broke his left arm (I was on the phone in the other room when they decided to have a jumping contest - not a very observant mom, I know). I wasn't sure at the time the extent of his injury as there was no swelling or discoloration. He seemed to go about the rest of the day doing well, but favoring the arm.

We had a sleepless evening that was made worse by his refusal of pain medicine. On Thursday morning he was excited to go to his second day of school, but was still favoring his arm. I was hoping to use my time volunteering in his class to observe if he still favored it as he played. We were at the school for about half an hour and then he had an accident on one of the bikes. I could tell he was hurting so I spoke to his doctor and they had me bring him right in. They sent us x-rays where they found a fracture, right above his wrist. We then waited 3 hours to see the pediactric orthopedics to look at the xray and then cast his arm.

C-man was very patient as we were at the dr's for 5 hours. I was grateful for the foresight to pack a bag with snacks, water, books, a pad of paper for drawing, and some games. We just hope the next 3 weeks will go by quickly for him as he is less than thrilled to have to have a cast on!

Aunt Deb came over and signed his cast too!

C-man's waterproof cast with loving wishes!

Even though he is hurting, he still shared his silly side! We love this kid!

Happy Playing, Megan

Oh man! That is crazy he didn't complain that much and it was broken!! Broken bones is something we haven't yet had the pleasure of dealing with, I'm so sorry! Hope he gets better soon and that 3 weeks flies by! :)

Hey Megan! I just saw your post on my blog. I can seriously TRY to take your family pics this year and would love to, I sure don't feel confident in my skills yet though so we can try and hope to get something good! Newborns are easy I find since they just sleep through it! And bows are totally easy to make and I should show you the big flower headbands/clips I'm making now too. Again, totally easy!
